Wow… just about four weeks in Colombia so far and it has been FILLED with ups and downs, losses and wins, new opportunities, heartaches and heart songs, but in each one, always a new breakthrough, a new revelation, a new understanding for the love that God has for not just me but every single one of His people. What has all of this taught me? “To live is Christ and to die is gain.” So my prayers recently have consisted of “Lord allow me to suffer for your sake as you have suffered for mine.” God literally deserves everything that I have because it’s His anyway. I own nothing. I’m just a steward of what God has entrusted me with. I’m currently on a week long phone fast, not because God has called me to but because He is worth it. I know it seems like a no brainer but that is just one of the many revelations I’ve had recently. I don’t need to be convicted of something to give it up to Him, He can have it, it’s already His anyway, and He is worth more than anything on this Earth. A question I was challenged with recently is, “If you had nothing, not even ownership of your body, would you be content knowing that Jesus is enough?” That wrecked me because as followers of Christ we all need to be in a position where we could confidently say “yes” to that question and right now I am not in that position. I don’t think the American church is either. We’ve all grown so comfortable in our protective bubble while there are people overseas being persecuted for their faith and unreached people groups who will never get the chance to hear the gospel. Comfortable Christianity is not Christianity. The only thing that is Guaranteed to those who believe is their salvation and that needs to be enough for us. For me it is. Lord take it all. I want to challenge everyone reading this. Ask God, what in your life do you not need? What is in the way of growing in your relationship with Him? What have you grown too comfortable in? Lord I just pray that as people pray to you and ask you these questions, you would break down every single wall that they have put up by themselves, either consciously or unconsciously, so that they would see nothing but you as the firm foundation left standing. Break down any idea of religion and tradition in them Lord so that all they would know is you. Lord build them back up brick by brick after that out of YOUR revelation, YOUR understanding, and YOUR wisdom. That we would build nothing up out of our own understanding. Lord thank you for your blessings that we can see and your blessings that we can’t see for we know that you work everything out for your greater glory. I pray the armor of God and the blanket of protection over everyone reading and that your will be done in each of our lives. I pray all this in Jesus name, Amen.
